I haven't had much to say. Work has been real busy. Add the usual everyday home stuff and it's twice as busy. I've had to be out of my classroom for two days just to DIBEL test at other schools. The great thing about it is getting home by 2:30 both days.
My MIL was hospitalized on Monday. She's had a few blackouts and with the last one she fell and hit her head. They've checked everything and can find no causes. They are going to look at environmental causes(carbon monoxide, gas leaks, cat litter).

I did have a chance this past weekend to work on some projects. I worked on a clipboard for niece's 11th birthday. It turned out so cute!

The ribbon going around the edges has peace signs. She's so going to love it!

The other thing I started was Daniel's Valentines. He decided he didn't want store bought Valentines this year. While looking through the February issue of Scrapbooks, Etc. with me, he saw the suckers made to look like flowers. I used my Cricut to make the scalloped circles after I couldn't find a scalloped punch in town. The other circle was from a 1 1/2 inch circle punch I got at 40% off.

Just 32 more to go! It really did turn out cute!!! I can't wait till this weekend when I can make the rest and play with my scrapbook toys!

Happy Birthday, Snakes!!

I'll start off by wishing my crazy BIL a Happy Birthday. He's 42 today! We had a nice afternoon watching the Vikings whoop on the Cowgirls and eating enchiladas.

Yes ladies, he's single!

Now for the good stuff! My goal over Christmas break was to clean up my scrapping room. It's really a small room off the kitchen. Two summers ago I painted the room beige and did black accents.  It's gone through a lot of changes since then. I did manage to get it cleaned up days before going back to work. I haven't had a chance to scrapbook though. I've been working on projects for my nieces and am about to begin work on Daniel's Valentines.  I'll post some before and after pictures of my room.

This is what my room looked like before I painted. The wallpaper pattern is little blue country ducks.

This is what it looks like today. I need to find space for the 19 inch TV that Pat brought home from deer camp. It's to reside in this room till next season. My plans for tomorrow are to get the things needed to start Daniel's Valentines and find a place for that tv. Maybe next weekend I can scrapbook!

My Michael's Haul

I did a little shopping Thursday, Friday, and today. Thursday, I found some cute Valentine stamps at Michael's. I'm usually not into Valentine's Day, but Daniel made a comment that he would like for me to make his cards this year. This is his last year in elementary school, so no more classroom Valentines after this year.

Friday I went to a different Michael's to get more, but they didn't have any. I did find some cute ribbon and chipboard albums in the shape of a cupcake, purse, and crown.

Not only did I hit up Michael's, I also had $60 credit at School Aids. That doesn't get you much for the classroom. I did find a class set of handheld whiteboards the students can use in small group. I got a book and a pack of awards for AR. I also got a flip chart for sentence building. The one thing I really needed they didn't have. I'll have to make the sight phrases for small group.
Of all that I bought at Michael's and SA, only $12 of it was out of my pocket! That's my kind of shopping!

Bad day!

This is not a good day. Joey has been sick since yesterday. He can't go back to school till Tuesday.
The gas company misread our meter and overcharged us majorly! I find this out after I paid the bill. I will have a credit though.
Daniel has lost his math workbook. It's at school because my house is super clean with no clutter. The school has no extra copies. There's a sub in his class and I'm thinking it may have been misplaced. Hopefully, they'll look tomorrow. What can I do?
Just a bad day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Unexpected Day

So today turned out nothing like I expected. I planned on going to the grocery store and that's it. Pat came home from deer camp and decided we need to go visit his mom and do our grocery shopping on her side of town. I should have known that would not be it.

We had a pleasant surprise when we got to his mom's. His Uncle Davey was in from Ohio(truckdriver). We visited a few minutes and left some deer meat. Next stop was suppose to be WalMart. Pat decided he was hungry, so of course we have to go eat. Now I'm the type that likes to go do all my running and then go home and eat. But he let Daniel pick the place so we ended up at mine and Dan's favorite place, Raising Cane's. Pat's not a fan, but he went with it and actually enjoyed it.

Needless to say, we didn't make it to WalMart. We drove back to our side of town and ended up at Target. From there we went to the grocery store.

Had I gone by myself I would have gone to WalMart and the other grocery store and been home in 2 hours. Our total time gone was 4 hours!

Just one more weekend of deer camp and he'll be home every weekend. Which means he will have us constantly running on Saturday. I prefer to hibernate in this cold weather!

Day One!

I decided to start a blog. Not sure why. O.k. maybe I do. First off, I've always loved to journal. I think that's why I love teaching writing. I even like grading it! Second, I love to scrapbook and journaling always takes a back seat to all that has to be done. This will give me a chance to document what goes on in our life and use it as a reference when I finally am able to journal.

My boys are my life. I have a 15 year old who's in his freshman year of high school. He starts driver's ed. soon and it's a little scary! My baby is 10 and in fifth grade. This is his last year of elementary school and it makes me a little sad. He will be the first to tell you that he is a momma's boy. This is my oldest Joey. The one who's head is on the chopping block, not the old man.

This is Daniel sitting at his desk at school.
